My Sweet Nectar...

Shannon recently surprised me with a special treat, Beer! My favorite beer is called Spotted Cow. It is brewed by the New Glarus Brewing Company in New Glarus, Wisconsin. This beer is huge in Madison and some areas of Wisconsin, but is pretty much unavailable in the Twin Cities. Shannon happen to have a friend traveling through Madison recently that agreed to pick up a 6-pack for me! I still haven't cracked one open yet...I'm waiting for a special occasion to savor every drop!

I figured since I shared a little about my favorite beer, I would do the same about my regular, every day beverage, Diet Mountain Dew! Ever since I can remember in high school I have enjoyed Mountain Dew, I was never a big fan of dark colas. When I played football in high school, our team made a pledge not to drink pop during the season, so each year I would quit Mountain Dew. Since I was working out more during football season and actually starting to watch calories, fat, and sugar in foods, when football season was over, I read the nutrition facts on the back of a can of Mountain Dew and was shocked. 170 calories! Now, considering at my peak, I would drink 6 - 8 cans of pop a day (which has been currently reduced by half) that was a lot of calories. So, I switched to Diet Mountain Dew and haven't looked back since. I can't drink any kind of regular pop anymore....it just doesn't taste right.
